Default Any Suggestions for refinish?

the gold coating on my j mags is peeling.i talk to the guy thats painting my car and he said he could get the gold coating back but in paint,and as you can see this is just like a sticker.

It's not a sticker, it's anodized. And, considering Rota's reputation for coating quality, this isn't surprising at all.

When metal is anodized, the surface is physically changed.

That's translucent paint, peeling off.

To the OP, strip the paint and repaint.

i bought them to restore them,i was just asking for the process of what to do.thanks to the ones who helped.

it does appear to just be paint chipping off. . . any paint shop could probably re-paint them for you. or a wheel shop could re-anodize them probably.

Aircraft paint stripper
Sandpaper to fix any light damage
Clean completely and dry
Primer and/or adhesion promoter
Paint
Clear (if desired)

Alternatively, forget paint and polish them. There's a sticky on that.

Paint would probably be just as durable as that. Break off a piece of it and take it to a reputable shop who can make duplicate the color chip from the wheel and powdercoat them back like that if possible, if you're willing to spend some $ on them.

If I were you i'd just strip them and powdercoat them a different color though if no one can replicate it (Im sure someone can)
