Integra won't go into gear when shifting at high rpms?
I'm posting this up to help a buddy out. He has a 95 Integra Gsr 4 door that has problems shifting at high rpms. When below 5k rpms or so it will drive and shift like a normal car, but when redlining or shifting at high rpms it won't go into any gear, it just won't go or grinds. He then has to slow down and mess with it until it will go again. However, he says it feels like it depresses fine, but only comes up halfway, but then if he lifts up on the clutch it comes all the way out and will go into gear again. It was taken apart and the throw out bearing was broken so that was replaced and everything else looks fine, it has an Act street disk and 2600lb pressure plate. However it's back together and still doing the same thing. Anyone have any ideas of what it could be? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
But even when you come to a complete stop it won't go in after trying to shift at high rpms, you have to mess with the clutch to get it to go in again. It shifts fine when you shift below 5k or so. I'm thinking the clutch isn't disengaging all the way or something. Anyone else have any ideas? I was kinda wondering if it was the master cylinder too after looking around, I'll check for leaks next time I see the car.
high clamping load pressure plates like those are known to either overengage or not engage fully. its just the nature of that type of pressure plate. sometimes they work well, sometimes they have issues.
Also a good idea to check the master on that one.

you know what it might be the master cylinder, even the slave.
that happened on my integra not that long ago id push in the clutch, but i had to shove it into gear then finally it just wouldnt, so i had to tow it to a shop.
that might be the problem.
when i had it i had to come to find out that it was both the slave and master cylinder at the same time.
so 300 bucks later after installation it worked great
