I have a 91 civic hatchback standard. The car only came for 2 places for speakers in the front. I put Infinity refrences in the doors, running from a Blaupunkt Casablanca CD50. In the trunk I have a 1000 Watt Volfenhag 12" subwoofer running from a 1000W Volfenhag amp. Sounds great for only having 2 midrange speakers, but I need more! Has anyone out there added more to their civic by drilling/cutting/anything? Pictures are also very warmly welcomed. Tx.

 

hey dude. my car is a 91 cx (canadian version... basically a civic std. with a dx motor/trans)
anyways there's a few ways you could go. hit up a junkyard and get the rear shelves which would hold up the cargo cover. thats where the factory rear speakers are mounted (6.5's)... the factory rear speaker mounts are rare as fock though and they kinda stick out and look weird. so this is what i did:

the pics arnt the best but you get the idea. a 5.25 fits in there just right if you cut off the sides of the grill. they're not in there super solid but you dont need to feed a lot of power to the rear speakers anyways.

other option you have is to amp your fronts. that should help your front stage to keep up.
