K20A3 swap
In the coming months I'll be putting a K20A into my EP3. The current A3 in the car is in great shape with low miles. The resale value for the swap is pretty low and overall, it's not worth much.
I have a 90 si hatch, unmolested, with a dead engine in my side yard waiting for a transplant.
I am contemplating putting the K20A3 into the 90 si. I know what I will need for mounts, adaptors and such. What my question is....what about the wiring? Has anyone come up with an adaptor for the a3 into the ed body? I know the more common k-swaps are the a2 and a, but no one does anything or the a3.

You can try emailing Rywire he might be able to make you a harness. His website is www.Rywire.com
why dont you just use the ep3 harness it will work or if your using it for your new swap just get another one. you will still have to do some wireing but it is not that bad , my buddy has this setup i will get more info for you asap. and also the k20a3 is not a junk motor just because idoits are selling them for cheap does not mean they are junk yes there not as good as a a2 or k20a but they are a hell of alot better than a gsr motor or a b16 and you dont see people selling those for under $1200-$2500 depending upon how complete the swap is and if you go through with this i garuntee that k20a3 90 hatch will be just as fast as your k20a ep3.

the conversion harness from hasport/rywire is the same for all the k20s except if you have a 6speed tranny then they can add in the six gear lock out wireing . and are you sure your 90 si hatch is a ed cause i thought that body style was an ef any way still waitng to here from my buddy.

Thanks for the input.
Some of the things to tackle:
_Shifter conversion (cut a hole in the firewall, buy a flush mount kit)
_Clutch (conversion from hydro to cable with a conversion kit)
_Moving the brake prop valve to the firewall
_Relocating the fuel pump to a different place on the firewall
_Customize the front bulkhead to allow room for a RSX or half-size radiator
_Custom hood for clearance
_Custom axles
_Engine Mounts
_ECU/Ignition
As you can see, almost everything has to be changed to make it work. While you are saving up the $5K you'll need, read everything here: http://k20a.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=20
Orrrr.. just sell the K20A3 and the EF shell and put that money into bigger front tires on the EP3.

do not waste your time with this swap, the difference in speed will be not too much different, you might hang with y8 ejs and ls integras, for the price that you will pay to put the motor in and all the components needed for this rather difficult swap you could ahve done bought a jdm gsr or type r swap, and sold your ep3 RUNNING and turblowed it running low 12s.........lmao a1 in an ef, might aswell walk
