after driving the car, a sudden squeaking noise is coming from the engine of my civic, it is running a d16z6, it is wierd because i did a tune up a few thousand miles ago... im scared that it might be a rod knock, but this squeaky noise is like coming from the engine, from what i heard, what do you guys think it is?

 

bump plz... im very scared because the squeaky noise is loud on idles but when i gas it its kinda faint. just happened 25 mins ago.

maybe it would help if you recorded a video?? Its very hard to go by just what you're saying.

 

Could simply be something like the idler pulley bearing. I doubt it's inside your engine. It most likely has something do with the drive belts and/or drive pulleys.

To test this theory, take all the drive belts off and start the engine. If it is gone, it's one of the accessories. Then put on one drive belt and run the engine. If it's still not squeaking, put another drive belt on and see if it starts squeaking. If it still doesn't squeak, put the last belt on and see if it squeaks. This should tell you which accessory is making the squeaking.

 

+1 for accessory belts. Sounds like you have wrong tension on one, or one going bad, or a pulley problem.

 

dam... because yesterday i was "racing" a friend for fun (first time racing) (no one was there so it was safe), and i ripped through 1st and 2nd to 7k rpm and before the race i did a little peel out . after the race the sounds appeared out of nowhere and i freaked out. lets hope its the belts.

 

sounds gotten a lot worse, it is louder than yesterday... gonna take it to a shop and see whats up, ill have u guys updated i guess...

 

Why are you taking it to a shop instead of checking for yourself first?

 

doesn't know a wrench from his @$$ maybe? or maybe he already checked and that wasn't it.

 

not really a "shop" i know a guy who used to build army vehicles back in vietnam, he is very experienced, and he has all of the tools, i got a dumb craftsman tool set... yup, im still a noobie to the honda world.

 

check the accessories belts. they might be bad

 

accessories belts were loose, now the car runs fine.
