Default New block for 1.6 SOHC ZC

I recently bought a 1990 Civic with SOHC ZC. The motor ran strong for about two weeks then the idle started staying high around 2,000 rpms when idling, then it would back to 1,000 rpms wich was how it was when I bought it. I was driving today and all of a sudden the rpms were all over the place and it felt like it wasnt getting enough gas. I dont if the aftermarket injectors that came with the car had something to do with it or not, but it doesnt want to start now, I hoping the block isnt shot. Worst case scenario, where can I get a cheap 1.6 SOHC ZC that will fit properly.......

PLZ help, I'm not sure if I should try to fix this block or just get a new one

If the idle is fluctuating up and down like that it sounds like an air leak either in the intake manifold or before it. Maybe a vacuum line came off or there is a line off of the manifold... It may not mean that your engine is done... Check for leaks first.

I appreciate evryone who took the time to read my post, I was really stressin out about my new car, I love it and I would hate for it to just sit while I try to save up the money $$$ for a new block. Come to find out all I needed was a new distributer, but I ended up changing the plugs, caps rotar and wires anyways......Although I had a little help with the diagnostic, it felt good to be able to fix it myself.........Oh yeah, I almost fprgot, the check engine light is on, but I bought the manuel so once I get the code it shouldn't be too hard to figure out. Thnx again to everyone who helped me out, I appreciate it a lot.

What you should have said was "tach" instead of "RPM's", most anyone on here with a 4th get civic/crx has replaced a distributor at least once. We all know the symptoms.

+1 I know I have... Well I was able to salvage the distributor, but that was because I cannibalized parts from another. Does that count?

Yeah, cannibalizing parts from another distributer counts, I was just gonna change out the ignition module, but I didn't want to be stuck on the side of the road again so I bought the whole thing from a parts store, remanufactured with a lifetime warranty........
