tranny is not freekn fittn back on wtf
gsr motor and gsr tranny, i got a stage 2 act clutch, clutch n flyweel is on. but the tranny will not fully get flush. out of frustration i ground off the stupid guide things. but it stilll wont fit on....can anyone throw me ideas? i tried wiggling itand kicking and everythign. its bolted up and now in the car but still not flush, and now the threads are dying any1 have this problem before?
you cut off the dowell pins?
you used a clutch align tool i assume? is the input shaft in the clutch and pilot bearing and hanging on the splines?
patience is your friend when attempting this.

Only thing I want to add. Did you remove the intermediate shaft? The Intermediate shaft (or driver's side axle if its a D-series) just never seems to want to cooperate. I tried replacing a tranny without removing it once and finally gave up, had no problem at all after removing the axle.
the dowel pins were bent n gay
is the input shaft in the clutch and pilot bearing and hanging on the splines???? i used the tool. the small bearing goes in the flywheel right? and the big bearing with the hooks is on the fork dealy in the tranny at the end of the shaft. all the parts are put to gether to spec

the dowell pins are bent and gay. how did they get bent? they play an integral role in not breaking trans cases. i was just making sure you used a clutch align tool.
No, it doesn't matter what gear it's in. Those dowel pins are rather important. The dowels make sure the tranny is properly aligned to the block and the bolts are there to hold it in place. For the sake of your input shaft, bearings, and probably the clutch, get new dowel pins.
As for the fit, if you didn't use an alignment tool, get one and start over. If you have, then you just need to be patient and wiggle the trans as you push it on. You may want to thread in one of the top bolts to hold it while you wiggle, but it will go on. Maybe put a little bit of grease on the tip of the input shaft and a little on those new dowel pins you are going to buy.

I don't think it's that. He's saying that there is a small gap...which would imply that he's not getting the end of the input shaft into the input shaft bearing.
A friend of mine had the same problem, he put the throw out bearing up side down and didnt enter all the way down, if not it could only be the aligment
You did what?!?! Pics or it never happened. Most guys don't have the tools or ability to weld aluminum, those that do generally know better than to weld a bell housing to an engine block. Congratulations, you now have a clutch that will never release, not to mention a transmission input shaft that likely isn't supported by the pilot bearing. All this on top of a ruined bell housing and block. Come on now, you had to know that was a stupid idea. If you get in a situation like this you *gasp* pull the tranny back off and see whats going on, maybe the pilot bearing was wrong and the internal hole was too small, maybe the clutch disc is bent because the transmission wasn't properly supported not allowing the tip of the input shaft to line up with the pilot bearing.
come on, you realy think i did that? when its warm i will check the alignment again and try again, if it still dont fit ill just put my k20 in and set my gsr motor on fire

It's just too cold out to work on your car!
