Default JDM h22a bucking and loss power (non-vtec related)

When driving the car cold it has no problem with acceleration and keeping a steady RPM, but once it warms up the car will not hold a steady rate of speed (pedal held steady, instead the motor loses power) and acceleration is sluggish and bucky. The only way it will accelerate "decent" is when I slam the throttle.

I pulled the O2 sensor and notice it has white deposits all around the shield. I do remember that I had a bad power steering leak which caused it to drip onto the exhaust down pipe where the O2 sensor is located. Any suggestions?

Check your Dizzy Cap & Rotor, and plugs..

My old H23 started buck like mad trying to keep a steady speed at one point.. Ended up being the Dizzy, it's retardedly fubar'ed..
When I had my JDM H22A swapped in, the H23 Dizzy was reused and it started doing it again.. Just have to replace the Cap/Rotor and it's ok again for awhile.

The spark plugs and dizzy cap are pretty much brand new, which were replaced about 3 weeks ago. I will take a look at the rotor, I did end up ordering a new denso o2 sensor to see if that fixes the problem.

kk

Well, my problem with the Dizzy is the little screw that holds the Rotor on the shaft is a little piece of junk. It'll come lose, or even fall off and then the rotor has play and will simply destroy itself and the cap.. :\
So I'd make sure that screw is tight at least.

it's still prolly in the dizzy. the internal ignition control unit, inside. I would save and buy a new jdm internal dizzy... just do it. it will make it run waay better at least, but I've had a similar problem, twice, with my dizzy's.

--- I would fork it out for the 'rich porter' high performance replacement.. either that or a new HONDA oem dizzy but they're twice as expensive as the 'rich porter'... i've gotten the 'basic' replacement twice now, (internal dizzy) and i'm ready to fork it out for an oem unit or the high performance dizzy. I even gutted my Jdm dizzy internals and put it inside the replacement & it ran better! Go Honda unit if you can..

I popped the hood one day to find the screw sticking through the cap.

Awesome
I'd keep an eye out on that in the future.. Mine has done it three times now.. I think it's mainly the fault of the screw, but it could be the shaft it stripped also.. I'm not that sure on it.

I'm just going to replace the whole thing one day..
