i have a 2000 ek my radio fuse blew today so i went under my dash fuse box to get one of the spare fuses to use until i got replacements and i guess i accidentally fulled my srs fuse right next to the spares and now my srs light is on on my cluster and i was wondering how you get it turned off thanks ht!

take the bulb out of the cluster, or just unplug the yellow plug at the cluster.

 

i dont want to get rid of it i want it off i heard you can only turn it off if you have the dealer do it?

 

GoT the same problems but mine just turned on alone. Whats the proper way to turn it off?

 

Since you put the fuse back, try disconnecting your battery for a few minutes to let the ecu reset then hook everything back up and turn your ignition on if that doesn't work, I know there is a thread somewhere that says how to reset the light on your own. If it is not in this forum I know it is in another I just can't remember which one it is at the moment. Otherwise you can just take it to the dealership and have them do it there.

If that doesn't work, I highly recommend you take it to the dealer ship

My bad, I was reading threw the post when you replied and said you tried it. I dunno then unless you have something unplugged somewere. Have you checked all the plugs?

 

yes i have havent messed wit anything lately only the fuses

 

i forget but there is a scanner that will tell u what is wrong with the srs system but i assume the dealership will do the same thing. i did the battery thing but i hit a bump on the crappy roads in the city and it came back on. so i am in the same situation u are in bud. i am taking mine to get scanned fri. or sat. at my local shop and see what the problem is

 

can u do it at a shop or is it only dealership?

 

in order to reset the ecu you not only have to disconnect the neg cable on the battery but also pump your brakes until it get hard to push in the wait 5mins hope that helps

yes it does.. just make sure all the srs units are plugged back in.. then you reset it.. it only works on certain cars though.. good luck
