Anyone try the Kumho Ecsta MX yet?
Well, what do ya know, Tirerack.com actually now has some in-stock listing for these tires, although only in huge 17" sizes for now... Guess Kumho is finally shippping those suckas out... About time too...
I doubt many people one here tried them out yet...

dammit!
I need another set of falkens but was hoping to pick up something almost as grip-tastic but that would provide some semblance of wet traction and not cost an arm an a leg. I would have tried these out but...
However i'm gonna order a set of rota's and another set of falkens and use those as track wheels, and buy a set of all seasons (probably Bridgestone RE950) for my OE alloys. $1000 solution to a problem... Although i could spend $110 per tire for S0-3's and solve both problems at once..

Ehh, I don't know that I'd call the S-03 a solution to your problems, RJ. I don't think I'd give them any credit in the snow just from the perspective of being a summer tire. As far as dry performance... I have it on good authority that they are not as good as the S-02 PP, which in turn is not as good as the Falken. Also, using the ultra-scientific finger-diggin-into-tread test, the S-03s are nowhere nearly as sticky as Falkens when they're both up to temp.
PS- Evan, you could PUT a 245 on a 7.5" wheel... but I have no idea how you'd fit it in your Subaru's fenders
Maybe with your wheel offset you could do some fender rolling and fit them...? I've seen 245 Victoracers on a WRX wagon on stock wheels, but those looked rather pinched, and I think the owner [who claimed they didn't rub] must've been smoking the blunt cause um... with 225 R-comps, there's not much room in the back. Period. I dunno if there's 245mm of width between the strut and fender, although you do have that nice new suspension setup that I'm not familiar with.

I measured his 205/50/15 S03s at 216mm tread width, so if you get them, they need a wide wheel.
Alright.. as i dont think the falkens really are sticky enough on the track (i am used to r-tires) but great grip for the price i think i'm gonna put some all-season/daily driver tirez on my OE wheels, be nice to them, and put (whats left of) my falkens on some rota wheelz...
