JDM H22A swap questions.
I couldn't find anything usefull on the search, so sorry.
First off. It's a 95 OBD1 Acura Integra LS. (non-VTEC)
CURRENTLY have:
stock B18B1, t3/t4 turbocahrger, GReddy FMIC, Turbo XS BOV, DSM 450cc injectors, untuned boosting 5psi. Stock ECU.
Got a JDM H22A motor and tranny for a hella good deal from a buddy. How good of a deal?
$700.
It's got an LSD tranny too. And comes with an ACT 6-puck clutch, and flywheel.
Bads:
no distributor
no cam gears
no timing belt (obviously)
no spark plug wires (maybe no plugs, who cares)
Goods:
ACT 6-puck clutch
OEM wrinkle red valve cover (like an ITR)
it's a damn H22A motor, what else!?
So I've heard good things about HT, so don't fail me now! lol
I've got a couple questions I would like answered. And thank you.
1. Axles: I can use the 90-97 Accord halfshafts and my current outter axles, correct?
2. Shifter Linkage: Where the hell am I going to get 90-97 Accord shift linkage? And that's the correct shift linkage right?
3. Mounts: Where from, and what are good mounts to get? I read that only a certain mount kit will allow you to use the Accord / Integra axle combo. Which kit is that?
4. Wiring: What Wiring Harness will I need? I can't remember, but I don't think it's coming with a harness. (it's an OBD2 motor, and my chassis is OBD1)
5. Cam Gears: Should I just get OEM gears? And also, where from? Google search or what? lol
6. Distributor: Also, where can I get these OEM parts? Or should I just buy a whole MSD Ignition system, since it doesn't have anything.
7. Plug Wires: Can I reuse the large 10.2mm plug wires I currently have on my Integra? They have a ton of slack if it's needed to reach the cylinders.
Thank you for your time! I can't wait to get this beast running with a new motor....

from what i kno hasport sell mounts for tht swap a lil bit of cuttin on the tranny bracket will have to happen as for distributor might as well get msd if your spending money on it do it right from the begining... wiring is gonna have to be a hack job such as injector plugs from a prelude and a injector resistor box the alternator wiring has to be taken from a prelude harness also cause the alternator being in the front not the back wiring has to be longer for iac valve and o2 sensor and ping plugs for the tranny all can be done to an integra vtec harness get an obd1 ecu with a ob2-ob1 jumper harness thats from wht i kno could be more....

i think it'll be easier if you go with an h2b build. if you go h2b you'll use your b series mounts, axles, and shift linkage. as for the distributor, search in the prelude forum for sale thread. i'm pretty sure i have seen few floating around there. i have a pair of stock cam gears.

An Accord dude on another Forum says I can use my non-VTEC wiring harness, and then just run the wires for the VTEC solenoid and VTEC pressure or whatever. And then the secondary intake runners...
How hard is it to take out the butterfly valves, so I can have a good constant flow?
Edit- I was checking out the motor and it looks like it's got OBD1 injector clips.... But isn't it an OBD2 motor?
Edit- Will BB4 prelude shift cables work on my car?

Also, is there a way I can tell if I've already got a water pump? I've never seen one before. Lol!
And Can I use an F22 crank pulley on my H22? It needs a new crank pulley.
I'm assuming if I had one it goes here:

P.S. Here's my motor:

but I will go in order:
1) you have to use axles by the manufacturer of your motor mounts or axles made for your specific mount kit. Hasport is the best mount kit in my opinion and they have a axle available. Its not like back in the days where you could use an accord half shaft and DA axles anymore. The axles will bind and just not work very well...
2) You can use any shift linkage from a h series or f series motor. as well as the shifter box. this means 92-01 prelude, and 90-xx accord. I believe you can use the rsx shifter cables and shifter assembly as well, I could be wrong on this part though.
3) Hasport, Avid, Inovative racing, In my opinion, Hasport is the ****! Have always run hasports after a bad experience with some other motor company. =\
4) You will use your original wire harness and midify it for the H. basically just make the connectors reach all the sensors and add the alternator wire over the valve cover.
5) Get soem after markets, your going to spend the money anyway. skunk 2 pro series...
6) you can use an OEM USDM dizzy for an h22 and you can covert it to internal coil if you like or you can use an MSD, however you like...
7) your LS wires will not fit the H head. You will have to get some new wires....
I have some random stuff for sale so if you need anything, let me know... Good luck with the build...
Hey, thanks for the help bro!
What do you think of the HCP mounts? That's what i'm going to use.
I've got somebody lined up for $67 shipped for OEM cam gears & a water pump. And another guy for $55 shipped for BB4 Lude shift cables.
If you've got a distributor for an H22, i'll take it off your hands. That's about the only major thing left I need. Other than the mounts.

Those are all great prices. HCP mounts are cool. they just dont look as nice as the hasports but thats the only real difference.
I have a jdm h22 dizzy for sale but it is wired for an MSD external coil. If you like, i will sell the dizzy and the msd coil for 110 + shipping... I also have a shifter box that will mount in the shifter tunnel. It is probably the better way to go because you can still run your center consol and you dont have to drill into your firewall to run your shifter cables. I also have some NGK blue spark plug wires as well...
heres a pic:

PM me if you are interested in pickin up some of my stuff.

And how does that shifter box work? It holds the shift cables or something? Please explain. Thanks! I'll send you a PM about the plug wires also.
