Default car heating up?

So I had been noticing a smell every time I got out of the car. It was like a rubber smell kinda like the smell of tires. But then I started noticing it was coming from under the hood and it seems like the engine is hot. What could be causing this and how can I fix it.

I think the rubber smell is the timing belt. Because when im driving I can hear like some squeaking which sounds like the belt... also the smell seems to be coming from the belt area...what could be happening?

more than likely you spilled some antifreeze on your header this will stink for quite some time trust me, even the smallest bit, even water on the header will make a smell it sucks....

Well it could also be like your alternator pulley belt or Power steering belt ( if applicable). The belt itself might be dry rotted and just shot. Most when they get pretty bad they start squealing and you might smell a hit of that rubber smell. The timing belt wont squeal. It will just snap if its going to break. Since it has slots for the teeth to go in Im pretty sure the timing belt wont slip and squeal..It's more than likely an accessory belt, Alt, Power Steering, AC etc.
