i installed a after market oil pressure gauge today i noticed that every time i would come to a stop the gauge would read alil below 0... when i would take off it would then give me a reading. if i was really low on pressure wouldn't the oil light on my dash go on?? could it be the gauge that's bad or did i just install it wrong?? i really need some help don't want anything bad happening to the motor.....thanks

 

well first we need to know how it was installed

 

well i followed the instructions...its called glow shift gauges..

 

Where did you install the sending unit?

 

I have a glow shift electrical oil pressure gauge and it all depends on how you hooked it up if it is the electrical one....mine sometimes reads a few psi different depending on the electrical load.

i talked to some friends today and according to them everything is installed right. they said its the gauge itself. some of you are asking me how i installed it. i screwed the sending unit that came with the gauge onto my stock sending unit. i followed the instructions. go to GLOW SHIFT GAUGE web site and the instructions will come up and thats how i installed it.
