ctr pistons installed into ls compression ratio
im building a straight ls for road racing whit ctr pistons and would like to know what you guys think i should do for a compression ratio for this set up. im going to install crower springs and retainers and going to run 405 cam that crower makes for the ls and a set of itbs
going to be running it on crome reving it to about 8900 or so
the bottom end will be fully balance and going to run a a type r oil pump , and chamfer the oil holes in the crank to get better oil lubrication on the bearings.
i also have a question on piston ring gaps
for the first ring gap im going to run it at about .010 gap
and second ring im going to be runing about .012 gap
and oil rings about .018
im trying to make it reliable and not wear the rings out prematurely
if anyone has any insight into this it would be appreciated
thank you racingconceptz

ITR/GSR/LS oil pumps are one and the same. I hope someone didn't sell you a Type R oil pump and promise you gains in lubrication. I would look into getting a gsr/itr block girdle if you plan on reving that high.
