Ok, is our Lower Front Balljoints replaceable?
On the front knuckle, a snap ring holds in the balljoint, but I can't find a replacement on schematics like on http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com...
And there isn't a replacement part on the parts sheet, has anyone tried to replace these, if so where did you find a replacement..?

are you talking about the spiral snap ring that holds the rubber ball joint boot in place? what number on this diagram?
Nope, the actual JOINT, that you can't see from the picture... I BIG snap ring holds it in.. I know it will come out, but there isn't a replacement part in the picture...
from THAT picture i would say you had to replace that whole thing. if you look at the upper ball joint, number 6 and 7, there is no replacement for that one either. you have to buy the whole arm, that is why there is a 6 and 7 there. 6 is one side, 7 is the other side (driver and passenger). next to the knuckle you have a 2 and 4. that is most likely the same thing. have the guy behind the counter at the dealership click on the two numbers and it will tell him what they are. it will either list a left and right side assembly, or one will be the ball joint. have you tried any parts stores yet? did they have any listing for the lower ball joints? i checked out a parts store around here and for a 94 vtec they have a listing for a lower ball joint for 51.99, so they must be separate. i would just try a parts store if your honda dealership can't seem to figure it out.

i had my front right ball joint replaced a few months back. started making noise like crazy on a 93vtec model.
i've been going to my friends father for the past 10 years and he treats me like i'm his kid.
anyway, he said that honda does not sell just the joint. that i would need to buy a whole new assembly/arm. i was like what the hell is that?
he found an aftermarket replacement for just the joint and had it pressed in. i forget which company it was from but it was only about $20-$30 for the joint itself.
don't go through honda.

u have to get the whole arm for the honda balljoint replacement .. i got one set from http://www.hparts.com ..
The answer is YES, they are replaceable, and YES, Honda DOES make a replacement. There is a Service Bullitin to this effect, but it only applies to 1996+ models. The parts WILL fit 92+ Preludes, the reason they aren't listed in the bullitin is because the joints on 96+ models are problematic, 92-95 aren't. The P/N is 04510-SL5-000. The kit includes 2 ball joints. As for the uppers, as far as I know they aren't available from Honda. I plan to buy a camber kit which includes upper ball joints and that will solve the problem
