Default best performing i/h/c/e

I searched, but didnt get much on best performance gains from a non-custom exhaust combo(no hytech or smsp parts). I'm trying to let my engine breath as best as possible because internal upgrades will be coming soon and I know that to get the best results from those upgrades good i/h/c/e is needed. So if you can advise me on the best combo of i/h/c/e, sound is not a problem because I would pretty much the only person around here with a modfied car(performance not LED winshield wiper nozzles y0). Thanks in advance.

I am assuming you are basing your question on a lightly modded car. Requirements will change as you mod, so a descent header for a stock car will suck for a modded one. My suggestion would be an AEM CAI, Comptech 4-2-1 and any straight through designed exhaust. I don't have C yet, so I have no idea what gains you will get from it.
You must also remember every car is different, so your results may vary. Most gsr's with CAI dyno at 140-145. I did 137. After the addition of a DC 4-1, and magnaflow exhaust I made an additional 20 hp.

Where do you want your powerband? How much HP do you plan on making when you are all set and done with modifying your engine? Do you ever plan on using N2O or supercharging?

For a generic, high HP allmotor setup, I would recommend a JDM 4-1 header with 2.5" collector, carsound 2.5" cat (inlet and outlet) into a 2.5" straight through exhaust that had the b pipe flange replaced for a 2.5" OD one. Intake I would say comptech icebox with the comptech shortram.

If you look at all the hardcore allmotor B18C beasts, they all have shortrams with a heatsheild.

I agree with the comptech icebox but for the header I would go with something besides the JDM 4-1. For instance, the DC JDM 4-1 should perform better and cost you a little less. Also if legality isn't an issue get a test pipe instead of the cat.

DC JDM 4-1 .
Yeah, thats what I ment. Thank you.

I wouldn't go with a testpipe because the difference is minimal, and it is very bad for pollution. I don't wanna be known as the generation that screwed up the air because we wanted 1whp more on a street car.

i went with iceman up top and greddy stuff out back. However, i went with the 4-2-1 design, this tends to respond better with LS cars. Also a carsound cat in there as well. All seems to be working together great. NO dyno #'s though, sorry.

But, must say that i love the quality of the greddy parts.

Comptech's 4-2-1 is a great quality header, but all of their products were mainly designed for an increase in midrange, daily driving power. The 4-2-1 is the only 4-2-1 I know of that is stepped to prevent exhaust reversion. This is what I would go with for mild NA or mild JRSC.

For Heavy NA I would definetly use something with a 2.5" collector
For Heavy JRSC I would definetly use a kamikazee header.

98 Integra AEM CAI JDM header carsound cat and Apex N1 exhaust. After all that dyno'd at 154hp. With a little change with the vafc got 162. Not bad for just bolt-ons.

No one recommends a test pipe in the setup?

AEM intake, Take your stock intake manifold have the center section takin out and then have the manifold ported, CTR cams, 2.5 inch header (varies on budget) and a reputable exhaust (dc, greddy, thermal,)

Get the comptech ice box, 2.5" jdm headers, high flow cat, and an N1

It has to do with volumetric efficiency. Most cold air intakes have longer pipes with smaller diameters. Both of these factors cause the air to move faster through the system, which causes volumetric efficiency to occur earlier in the powerband. You may have noticed most CAI dynos show a hump of power between 3 - 5k rpm.

Short ram intakes have shorter pipes with larger diameters. This causes the air to move slower, so the air speed required to reach volumetric efficiency happens higher in the powerband.

Where do high reving engines produce most of their HP? In the high RPM's. Once you get above 30mph, the different in temperature is negligible between a shortram and cai (especially when you have a heatsheild), at that point its all about where you want your powerband to be.

I am pretty sure that on a stock exhuast the test pipe will change the sound drastically. If you have aftermarket headers and exhuast, would there be any difference in sound b/t the carsound high flow cat and a test pipe? I don't really mind going illegal, but It is always nice to be legal.

Importbuilders custom JG header

After the addition of a DC 4-1, and magnaflow exhaust I made an additional 20 hp.
Are you on crack!!!???

Well maybe if you were turbocharged or some other type of forced induction then 20hp might be possible but if your NA then that is total BS!!!
