Default Wheel Spacers reduce camber?

I am wondering what anyone knows about wheel spacers reducing camber?

My friend just got a car same year as mine but a coupe, and his car is lowered almost the exact same as mine, just barely tucking tire, only he has wheel spacers and the camber is almost non-existent.

I'm wondering if anyone else knows of the benefit of wheel spacers for this condition?

And whats the safest size without having to mess with the lugs.

Thanks

wheel spacers won't fix camber

if you want to fix camber, you need a camber kit. and for the rear you can either do the washer trick or get a camber kit.

Just get a skunk2 camber kit, reasonable price and gives you adjustability. They work just fine, minus the squeak you get from the polyurethane bushings -_________________-

although the squeaking is only temporary until it breaks in.

Okay, I was just wondering.

I'm looking for camber kits, and this guy I was talking to has front an rear for $120 some brand he got himself right in Taiwan (hmm...?)

But I really only need front, I have little to no camber in the rear, what is the washer trick however?

And do you know if a rear tower brace from a hatch will fit a sedan?

as well as a front lower H brace?

The washer trick involves removing the 2 bolts the hold the upper control arm to the unibody and putting washers between the upper arm and the unibody, the bolts should be replaced with longer bolts to compensate for the length of bolt lost due to the washers.

Wheel spacers just push out the wheel, leaving it at the same angle (camber).

Washers and longer 14mm bolts (PS or AC bracket bolts) will do the trick.

It sounds like replacing bolts would be rather pricey.

Whats the average cost of doing that?

Pretty much nothing, thats why everyone does it instead of buying a rear camber kit. Like the guy above me said go to the hardware store, buy some bolts and washers.

It wouldn't?

Getting longer bolts (what should I call these???) that you lug your tire onto wouldn't be very expensive???

(Thanks)

Not that I need longer wheel studs, now I am just wondering how much it would cost, and how you install them.

Is it a do it yourself job? I also assumed changing the studs would be a serious labor job.

Oh that's not bad at all. Accept grinding down the bolt doesn't seem all that safe...

Any write-ups on how to do this washer trick?

Not that I found. Looked at some stuff on Google, definitely an easy DIY.

I just need to make sure: when adding only 2 washers behind each bolt is it okay to keep the original bolt?

I picked up 8 washers today, planning to use 2 per bolt, a reasonable amount for a sub 2 inch drop.

I took pictures, it did virtually nothing. So I plan to pick up 4 new, longer 14 mm bolts and add an additional 2 washers per bolt.

Here are the crappy cam phone before and after:
