H22 swap in a 2000si any help?
Im wondering if its the best idea the thing is Im trading my b16 for an h22 full swap plus 1000 bucks. also Im looking for motor mounts cheaper than 500-600 hundered bucks can anyone help
Are you putting it in your self? have you ever swapped a motor? if not, do RESEARCH. HASPORT mounts. your gonna need axles too. RESEARCH it. your car will be faster so if u want that then go get the h22.
No Im no doing it myself, one of my friends buddies is gonna do it for me and I get a six puck clutch tranny axles everything that you would need i just gotta find some motor mounts thanx
but then again he is on a budget he doesnt have 800 to buy a adapter plate for the b16 tranny and yea go with hasport motor mounts you should feel a noticeable power gain and now you will have torque lol

Are you spending $1000 on your end? If so this is a bad deal IMO...H22 longblocks can be found in the $1000 to $1500 range all day. Also is your B16 trans going in the deal?
He's right you can get a h22 for that price and sell the b16 on the side keep the trans and with the money from the sale get the swap kit and not have to chop off your trans mount and have a great motor with less headache on the install. Its is a bad deal unless its a Euro-R motor which I doubt it is. Even if it was I would still do what were telling you.
yeah working on a 1500 dollar budget, and the thing is the guy has the motor just chillin in his shop and this would be cheaper to keep the h22 rather than build my motor which personally i think b16's are gutless. the h22 has cams springs valves and headers so for 1200 bucks im getting a 110 hp gain the guy use to have it in his ek and he ran 13's, but please more suggestions thanks
your B16 makes about 138 +/- hp so how in the world does his H22 make 110 more hp? Anyway please post the exact trade:
You are trading your B16 and $1000 for his H22? Also are the trannies being traded as well? I want to help you, but I need all the info...thanks!

well if you did it by Crank Hp than yes the Prelude motor is at about 215 sorry if I'm wrong but real world wheel horsepower maybe 65 with the little extras maybe 75 to 80 and the coupe chassis is a bit lighter not much.
Sorry man but 1500 would buy me a b20z. I would take the B16 head off and slap it on there I would put retainers and springs with the ls vtec kit You will still be well under 1500 total IMO but I do do my own work.
axles aren't a problem with a H22 swap in an EG or EK chassis. It mainly depends on what mount kit you use (some kits position the motor or angle it so much it's way off with the alignment to the hubs), and don't slam the car too low (again throws off the alignment to the hubs and will put too much stress on the joints).
so i am trading my b16 and tranny axles and 1000bucks
and i will be getting
h22a hydraulic tranny axles skunk2 cams along with the retainer springs so pretty much a built head, a six pad act clutch
And the guy is gonna do the swap included for me seeing how i have never done one before

Good job bringing down the value of the Si. 13's are easy to attain, not worth all the hacking. You can make really decent power with the 1.8/2.0 B, not to mention the B-Trans is so much nicer.
Seriously you can find B18a/b's for a few hundred, build it or not or find a B20Z/B(99-00) block have someone you can trust put on the vtec head on and enjoy the power it makes and still have ac/ps and not having to hack up the chassis.

you are spending quite a bit and you need to be aware that once you go to the H22A...you can't just pop a b series back in there. Also, there are mounts and other things that need to be purchased by you for extra $ that make this an even more costly adventure. the other option is to go to the H2B which someone else has mentioned. This uses the H22 and a b series transmission thereby keeping all of your stock mounts intact, and using the normal shift linkage and such...just a thought...good luck!

so how do i do the H2B swap just get the H22 and bolt my tranny to it, that way I dont have to buy motor mounts? oh and by the way I took out the ac and power steering already. thanks for all the info
ur gunna need to get a h2b kit and a h22 long block.....maybe buy just that dudes longblock and trade him ur b16 longblock or something. h2b will be much easier then the h22 swap by itself. since u already have a b series engine u have everything else you need. or sell the b16 long block and u will have more money to add to ur budget.
