Default Need a confidence boost for this audio install

Hey what's up.. Just wanted a little feedback on the system I'm installing.

I have installed:

Clarion CZ309 HU
4 (2 frnt/2 rear) - Kicker DS 600 (6 inch speakers)

I just bought and will be installing this weekend:

1 Profile AP600 2 Channel amp ( bridged I'll get 300 watts )
1 MTX Thunder4500 T4510-04 10" 4-ohm Component Subwoofer (50-225 watts RMS)
1 Rockford fosgate 8gauge Wiring kit

I plan to bridge the 2 channel amp to power the subwoofer. I know the amp isn't name brand, but for my application and based on reviews from Crutchfield, I'm liking it. I'm happy with the speakers clarity and loudness, but need a little more 'thump' to balance them out. Will all this run on the stock battery - I think yes, I read 300W is safe? Will the amp run the sub well enough in the bridged config? Is there anything I might be forgetting? Any info on adjusting the HU to run all this efficiently would be helpful too such as HPF and LPF.

Any other comments/suggestions for a first time installer would be great. Thanks guys

Mark

For first time install, id like to say make sure that the fuse is within 10 inches of your positive battery terminal; the closer the better.

Amp ground also needs to be less than 12 inches long and at least as big as your power wire for your amp.
Don't run your RCAs next to the power line.
Use some nice 12g speaker wire for the sub connection.
And I love my Clarion sources.

the only thing i see that could go wrong from my experience is that you can possibly blow the fuse on the power wire.
besides that dont really worry about it
do your research and you'll be good.

im not familiar with Clarion but from what i learned..
if you got 3 RCA plugs just hook it up the way the manual says..
but if you got 2 then you got to hook up the highs into one RCA (need to buy Y-adaptors) ..
-someone correct me if im wrong.
- you will lose the surround sound. (songs that go from the left speakers to the right speakers)

I'll say this:

- know your limits.
- look 3x before drilling. (use the buddy method)

Got plenty more but I don't wanna scare you. Above all : take your time!! Its not a race, nor is it a smart thing to start when you have to be at work in 2 hrs either!
MAKE THE TIME...THINGS WILL GO MUCH SMOOTHER.

The hu has an RCA output for the sub. I don't know what the hell the rest of the **** you are talking about means.

OP be sure to leave the fuse out of the power line before running any wires.

Looking 3x drilling is a good idea.

Im not sure how it is designed in the 2002 civic but in my 1999 civic, one of the engine harnesses runs through a factory grommet(directly behind and under the battery thats against the firewall) that, for me, was easily able to run a 4 gauge power wire, 8 gauge power wire, and 4 16 gauge wires.

If this is true for your vehicle also, you might not have to drill at all.

One thing I see very often is people run the power wires across the engine bay. What I mean is that for the older civics the battery is on the passenger side right, well most run it all the way to the drivers side so you got a power wire dangling under extreme heat which is not cool and dangerous.

2002 civics battery are on the front driver side so run the power on the driver side and run the RCA on the passenger side. I would avoid the middle tunnel because of the heat.

I think you should return the 8 gauge wire kit and just get the 4 gauge. I have a feeling you will upgrade your system later so why do it twice right? Don't buy the cheaper brands if you do exchange it because alot of companies are skimping on the wire and just making the insulation bigger to cheat people.

Make sure you get lots of tie straps to keep things neat and pay attention to detail. GL
