Which Oil Pump to Use Im Confused..
Alright, im building a B16A turbo.. the motor is OBD0 and its in a CRX i converted it to OBD1.. of course i need a b16 or gsr oil pump.. i know this.. but my question is.. i found a nice brand new oem honda oil pump on ebay for 95 bucks still in the wrapper.. BUT its for OBD2 and i know the OBD2 oil pumps have a sensor in them.. i know my ecu wont look for the sensor but will this cause any problems?.. i know the oil pump doesnt come with the sensor so i would have to find one an leave it unhooked.. can someone explain this to me.. or refer me somewhere to buy a oil pump that does not have this sensor..
The OBD2 oil pumps dont have a sensor IN them. It's just a mounting point for the crank sensor that the OBD2 ECUs use...you don't have one so no biggie.
And don't get all hyped up whether it's a Type-R or not. All the OBD2 VTEC oil pumps are the same.

So it's really up to the OP which way he wants to go, but if he does get the OBD1 pump, he should remove the washer located at #12 in this diagram http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/...s=&view=normal
for a little bump in oil pressure.
But like locash said, with the OBD2 pump(which is what you listed) you need to get the lower timing belt cover and it ends up being the same price as a new OBD1 oil pump.
