If you a drag racer or a regular joe the plumber what cam gears do you use and would recommend?

 

Golden Eagle MFG.

 

Rage Racing or Golden Eagle Mfg.

 

Bisimoto non-slip gears.

 

Fidanza or Skunk2 Pro Series Cam Gear.

 

..As long as they don't slip, does it really matter what kind? I would say stay away from the 3 bolt AEM gears. Most of the gears out there are 4 bolt. But the Skunk pro series and new JG cams gears are 6 bolt.
If i had to get another pair now i would go with GE or Skunk2

I prefer any of them that have 4 or more bolts and are easy to read.. Nothing annoys me more than having to sit there and stare at the damn cam gear to figure it out. With that said, I have stock gears on my car right now, with stock cams.

 

skunk2 pro series never had a problem with them.

I've been running the AEM 3bolts for about 10 years now and have never had an issue. Dont tighten them like a ***** and you wont have a problem.

 

I have Bisimotos here and they are a very nice piece. I've used GE always in the past as well. Never any issues.

 

i had an issue with the early ones having a bolt a little too long, so i put a stainless lock washer under each bolt and never had an issue with mine either. james said his cams work best straight up, so thats where they are at.

but like rick i never had a slippage issue with aem gears.

Skunk 2 pro series

 

Bisimotos here... 8300 rpm launches & 9500rpm shifts no slipping here.

 

I would also suggest a cam gear with 4 or more bolts. Full-Race makes a nice 6 bolt set of cam gears.
