Default 1/4 mile= What 1/8th mile

what will 14.9 seconds in a 1/4 mile do on a 1/8th mile? I want to go to the track but the closet one is a 1/8th mile, and my goal was to atleast get 15 in a 1/4 mile. I got a 91 civic std, with a 99 ls swap, ls tranny, act 6 puck sprung heavy duty clutch, CAI, Hytech replica header, 2.5" exhaust, traction bar, advanced timing, and some decent street tires, What do u think it will do?

I havn't been to the track yet, and the one i am going to is a 1/8th and everyone says i will run 15's in a 1/4 mile so what is 14.9 in a 1/8th mile, like 9.8??

If you want to go from 1/8 mile times and get a real close 1/4 mile time.... multiply your 1/8th mile time by 1.57. Its pretty darn close.

your car should be alot faster than a 14.9. my guess your 1/8th would be around 9.3-9.0 @75-77mph. It should be a mid to low 14 if the track is prepped well and your driving is decent. My ls in my 92 civic vx ran consistant 14.4's @ 94 and your car is lighter.

My setup was a 92 automatic b18a, gsr tranny, 4-1 ebay header w/2.5" collector, 2.25' exhaust no cat, and a 3" auto parts store intake.

Damn i think i can do 14.4, only bad thing is that i have a ls tranny. But my weight will take care of that. I only weigh 100lbs lol. I also got a act clutch, advanced timing, traction bar, 2.5" exhaust, and i have a cheap 2.5" cai from ebay with a k&n filter. I am going to the track probably Wednesday. I will see what i get. And its my first time so it wont be good lol

A friend of mine had a car very similar to yours. He got me to drive it for him alot and my best time was 14.0@96. It was a 90 4spd hatch with a 95 ls, ls trans, I/H/E with no back seats.

I ran a 14.9439 in 1/4 at 90.16 mph with a 2.4069 60' (shitty I know, new tires coming) and a .5276 reaction time and my 1/8 times were 9.6722 @ 75.59.

My 1/4 time would have been faster but my CEL came on as soon as I hit 4th gear and I killed the motor and coasted the last 350 feet or so.

Plus I had no traction thru 1st 2nd and a little of 3rd. If that gives you an idea of what you may run.

This was and h2b eg hatch with 205/50/15 falken azenis at about 26 lbs.

Everything depends on alot of things. tires, temps, track conditions, driver, gearing, reaction, 60' times and altitude.

Hit up the track and post your times and then we will all know the answer to your question.

My best times start with a good burnout. Some people say that street tires dont need a burnout yet I seem to pull 1.9-2.0 60' on the shittiest of used tires from the cheapest place I can find. 2nd gear burnout. That means start in 2nd and tach it up to 5k and go. dont dump it just slip it fast. From there its all in practice on launching. Some cars like 2k launch and some like 5k.

ok i went to the track sunday, and i came out pretty good. I got to go 8 times. These were my best 2 runs of the day. And remember i had really bad tires, there was like not even a cm of thread left lol. Also this was my first time, and i also took out my back seats. I think i messed up my second gear, because i went to go into 4th but i went into 2nd, and now when i shift fast my change holder doesn't open how it use to... ? But i am going to get new tires probably BFGoodrich G-force 205-55-15 (blades)
