got a 99 4door civic lx

can someone tell me if the front cap is the same as a 2door and hatch, headlights, bumper, fenders, hoods, etc......

if the 2door, 4door, and hatch carpet is the same,

if they had black interior in any of the 4door ek's.

also i have a 93 eg hatch with skunk 2 rear lower control arms and front and rear camber kits. will any of that work with the 5 lug conversion?

this is my first ek so im not sure, ive always had eg's

Sorry but you can't make a CTR. 96-00 civics in north america didn't come with a black interior. Coupe, sedan, and hatchback front ends are all interchangeable but 96-98 front end parts are not interchangeable with 99-00 unless you swap out the whole front end. EG/DC rear LCA's are different from your EJ rear LCA's but the rear camber kit will work.

thanks, thats what i needed to know. i knew the 96-98 and 99-00 fronts were different. but i wanted to know if they would interchange between 2,4 and hatch. you answered my guestion on that so thanks.

how about the carpet? is the 4 door carpet alittle longer?
and would a door black dash work in the 4 door, and is it the same black as the jdm black?

also what is the jdm chassis code for the ek's (ex. eg6 hatch eg8-9 4door ej1 coupe)

'99-'00 Civics in the US had three different grilles and the front lip was standard on the Si (but optional on other coupes and fits all '99-'00 front ends). Otherwise the front is the same.

The grilles are:
- The coupe/hatch grille - painted shell with two bars through the middle and a chrome H emblem in the middle.
- The sedan grille - a chrome shell with three bars through the middle and a chrome H emblem in the middle.
- The Si grille - painted shell with mesh in the middle and a removable chrome H emblem in the middle.

There were black sedan interiors overseas, but not in the US. USDM Civics had several different interior color options:
- Excel Charcoal (Light Gray - TYPE F) ('96-'00 coupes, '96-'97 hatches, '96-'00 sedans)
- Classy Gray (Dark Gray - TYPE K) ('96-'00 coupes, '96-'00 hatches - includes ALL USDM Si coupes)
- Medium Taupe (Tan - TYPE P) ('96-'00 sedans)

So the closest you will get as a stock US interior will be the light gray interior.

You'll want to look into SEM. People here have said they've had success with it, but I can't recall seeing photos.

The coupe and hatch carpets are the same, but not the sedan.

The rear camber kit will work. The rest will not.

Sedans can only use sedan carpets. Sedans can only use sedan door panels.

The dashes are all the same for '96-'00 (besides the center mixer vent on some overseas models), but the climate control section is unique on the '99-'00 models.

There are three or four blacks used on interiors for 6G Civics. I don't know if it's all used for plastics or also used for cloth and carpet.

6G (1995-2000) Models:

EJ6 (1.6L SOHC non-VTEC 2/3/4 door)
EJ7 (1.6L SOHC VTEC-E 2 door)
EJ8 (1.6L SOHC VTEC 2/4 door)
EJ9 (1.4L SOHC non-VTEC 3/4 door)
EK1 (1.6L SOHC VTEC-E 3/4 door)
EK2 (1.3L SOHC non-VTEC? 3/3 door)
EK3 (1.5L SOHC VTEC 3/4 door)
EK4 (1.6L DOHC VTEC 3/4 door)
EK5 (1.6L SOHC ?? 4 door 4WD)
EK6 (??L SOHC ?? 3 door)
EK7 (??L SOHC ?? 3 door)
EK8 (1.6L SOHC ?? 4 door 4WD)
EK9 (1.6L DOHC VTEC 3 door)
EM1 (1.6L DOHC VTEC 2 door)
EN1 (1.6L SOHC VTEC CNG 4 door)

SEM is great. It's tough, and looks legit. I used Satin Black.

These used to be grey (the 3 rear panels... the speaker panels and the center panel under the rear window)

If you want a black interior NO US panels will be what you're looking for. There were just no US black interiors for '96-'00 Civics. Trust me on this one.

What parts are you looking for?

Look in the A/C sedan thread too.

JDM interior - Contact importers who already supply other JDM parts. Few people do a full interior swap (much less on a sedan), so few people list it for sale.

CTR headlights - I think it's $300+. Look on all the regular JDM sites. Most have them for sale. Check ICB, for example. There's not going to be a store you can get real ones from for "cheap".

Bronze windows - Optional. They didn't all have it.

Rear wiper - Not on CTRs. It was on some hatches (not all) and one RTi sedans. I think some European sedans got it too. Had Honda made a CTR sedan it would have not gotten the rear wiper (since the real CTR didn't get it). It would be difficult to source a sedan rear wiper anyway.

yea, i didnt think it would be easy to come across a jdm interior, i just thought maybe someone else had looked into it before or maybe done it.

and you bring up a good point about the rear wiper. i just always like the look of the rear wiper and bronze windows on the sedans. i actually have all that for an EG sedan already,

i appriciate your help dude!

also do you know if there was a flush mount wing for the ek's like the eg's had on the sedans?

No flush wing for '96-'00 Civic sedans. Not stock at least.

If you want to try to make a realistic Civic Type R sedan then I'd suggest the VTi sedan rear spoiler. It's tall like the '99-'00 Civic coupe spoiler, but a little different (more angular IIRC).

4 door CTR replica will be sick man!!!
Check out paint though, MANY people have used quality paints on their interior with good, long lasting effects.

Get the CTR lights, OEM Si grill, OEM Si front lip, replica rear lip, 5 lug swap, CTR wheels, CW color change, B16 swap, CTR (or Si) cluster, CTR seats, etc. Ive never seen it done.

I wanted to make my hatch an EM1 replica..

You could always make a CTR Race replica. Then you won't have to worry about the interior as much.

I think those might have been '97-'98 only though... Not that it'd be difficult at all to make a replica like that.

CTR Race interior

Are you keeping it LHD?

I would suggest the following for a CTR replica sedan:

Exterior
- Grille (CTR, possibly Si, but I hear it has a different number of grille holes)
- Mirrors (Overseas)
- Headlights (CTR)
- Taillights (JDM sedan)
- Front Lip (OEM Optional, Si, CTR)
- Rear Lip (OEM Optional coupe/sedan)
- Paint (Championship White, Flamenco Black Pearl, New Vogue Silver Metallic or Phoenix Yellow)
- Wheels
- Sidemarkers
- Side Molding (JDM)
- Spoiler (VTi)
- Red H Emblems (CTR, possibly custom for trunk emblem)
- Type R Emblem
- Type R Side Stickers

Interior
- Cluster (not the same as any other trim)
- Steering Wheel **
- Door Panels (custom) **
- Front Seats **
- Rear Seats (custom) **
- Climate Control / Bezel
- Radio Block Off (on Race)
- Radio *
- Carpet (custom) *
- Floor Mats *
- Shift **** *
- Shift Boot *
- Vent Pocket (I hear these might not fit LHD cars very well)
- Armrest Delete
- Cupholders / Pocket
- Black Interior *

Performance
- Engine
- Shift Linkage (goldish in color)
- Shift Arm (goldish in color)
- Five Lug / Rear Disk Brakes
- Front Upper Strut Bar
- Front Sway Bar
- Front Lower Tie Bar
- Rear Upper Strut Bar (Optional part)
- Rear Trunk Bar (custom?)
- Lower Tie Bar with CTR Subframe (has additional brackets)
- Rear Sway Bar
- Front and Rear Bumper Rebar (instead of giant metal bumpers)
- Exhaust (custom)
- Muffler (custom)

* = Won't need if replicating CTR Race.
** = Different from US, but also different than CTR.

Notes:

Trunk area carpeting stays gray. Plastic panels should be black though.

The Type R has additional chassis bracing, but I'm not sure how you'd go about incorporating that into your design.

I tried to remember everything, but I'm bound to have missed something.

You should really go over photos and specs and try to make a complete list yourself. I don't know if I got everything.

I figured that would be the first step to even thinking about making a replica car. List down the differences between your car you'll be working with and the car you want to replicate.

If he wants a realistic replica then he will do everything in his power to make it one.
