Hey everyone,
Recently installed the PICs select suspension and looking into getting some new tires for the R with 16x7 Spoon Sw388s. I've decided to go with the azenis RT-615s in 215s. Since the ride is fairly low, would it be necessary to roll the fenders and adjust the height to compensate the extra width/size of the tires (I need to get an alignment anyways)? BTW, its an '00 PY ITR Badge #1281 so to speak. Picked her up as shell and got it running not to long ago =].
Here a pic of its current ride height with the stock R wheels in 205s. BTW, the PIC suspension feels great!

How much is it lowered? I know with a moderate drop (1.5", maybe even 2") it should clear, as long as your wheels are the right offset.
And if I were buying right now, I would get the Kumho XS instead, in the same size. It's about the same price as the RT-615 ($107 for the XS, $106 for the RT-615, with free shipping from Discount Tire Direct), but the XS is stickier.

Its lower about 2 inches max. I was quoted for $123 for the azenis. Now I know where to get the tires now!
225/ why, do you have that much power?
Which spring rates did you get with the PICs?
if 10/12 or higher you should be ok if the offset is not too drastic.
new tires, new wheels, new suspension = wheel alignment.

My car is about the same hieght as yours. I run 16x8's with a 215/45/16 Azenis for AutoX. I only rub intially when the tires are brand new under heavy braking. After a few runs they no longer rub. If you opt to go with 225's, you will rub and you will need to pull your fenders out. Not worth it for street duty IMO.
Thanks for the info, 215's it is! Will post pix once everything gets settled in.
ive got hankook rs2's in 215 45 16's and my car and is pretty much slammed on PICS and I dont rub at all.
Im curious on how your ride quality is too. Ive got 12k on front and 10's on the back and my front end is STIFF. I actually want to trade out my front springs because they are too stiff for my shitty roads out here in Mass.

I haven't had the chance to test them as I have yet to get an alignment. Since I knew they were going to be high in sprint rates I set the shock settings to 4 all around, which was bearable (street wise).

I have some Volk TE's with a +33 offset and the rears rubbed a little under hard acceleration. The wheel sticks out further than most wheels out because of the offset but I raised the car a bit in the rear and rolled the fenders. No more rub.

Good to hear as the two spoon sw388s I have are +35 offset. Thanks!
