ANYONE who DRAG RACES! quick question....
So last night I took my car up to atlanta dragway just for the hell of it.....needless to say i had a blast! Only made 2 passes but i felt like a kid it was a really good time and it was legal!
Ok so I KNOW MY CAR IS SLOW! but here is my question....Based on these timeslips what do ya'll think my car is capable of on slicks assuming it doesnt spin at all! I wanna pick up some light wheels and drag slicks sometime....Also wondering if i'm going to break axles and such.....haha I've heard of people running <11 on stock axles!
Right now i am launching at 3000+/- a few and im spinning 1st and 2nd pretty bad!

drag redails will be your best bet with the power you have like some bfg and if you preload your drivetrain then that will save your tranny and axles and help with your times your 60 foot is real bad you need to work on that.
It looks like you are just dumping your clutch from 3,000 rpms. If you learn to preload and slip the clutch out you can launch at higher rpms and get better 60' times
yes i was just dumping the clutch at 3000......that is all i knew to do! I'm def. a nOOb to this and i have posted up on my local forum as well and everyone is saying to preload the clutch and slip it rather than side stepping! My 60' is horrible so i guess next friday i will be practicing this.............thanks for the input!
really???? hmmmmmmmmmmm i have new hope! I will be practicing launch next friday i guess! haha it was packed this friday and i only got 2 runs in 2 1/2 hours! : (

Most def learn to preload I ran 10.4 with stock axles!!! You also need to come out of the hole harder I would not be surprised if your car is not boggin coming off the line so low in the power band. I would try launching the car around 5500-6000 rpms and have fun from there good luck!!!!
If you don't know how to preload, try pedal control. Don't slam your pedal to the floor off the launch. Let it grab and then pound it...
it will save your clutch this way also...

Well since you can barely get any runs in... What I would recommend to do but be careful is to find roads where there are no cars. And practice preloading maybe 1-3 times first and second gear. Then leave the area and try again a different day. Reason why I say day is just to let your clutch cool down.
