oversizing TB worth it?
this would really depend on supporting mods. even with them you're not going to get a huge gain, i don't what you are expecting. but if you don't have cams yet i wouldn't even bother

i have to agree with SleeperGSR. it simple fact is that most ppl don't understand that even tho you upgrade you tb they end to forget other things. for the simple fact is yes you get some what better throttle response but thats it. if you'er pushing in more air you'r motor must have the need upgrades to take in that air. so in turn you are hindering your engine.

I have a mild built gsr with itr piston, cams, S2 IM, SMSP 4-2-1, aem CAI, hondata S200... I get 191whp@7000 and 137wtq @6000 right now... I could have deal on a jdm ITR TB that I would strech to 64-65mm... just wondering if it's a lot of trouble for not much...
quick answer is yes it will be not that much gains. however, there will be some(maybe not even noticable) improvements. Just looking at what you did to you motor, i don't know if you did all your own work or not, you probably would have been better off just buying a b18c5. I have a gsr also, stock motor for now, and i was really thinking about doing what you did. When you add all the cost up it's probably easier to swap it out. Good numbers tho it's encouraging. personally if i were where you were at i would look at getting a more agressive set of cams, you would see a little more bang for your buck. or if you haven't replaced your valve train i would look into that first then a set of cams that makes power up high and you could really wind your motor out. that's just me tho. I kind of look at a TB like an intake, unless your hunting for every last hp you could alot more hp in other places for where you are at.

Depending on what your looking for... Swapping is the easiest way I agree but...It's not new and you don't really know the abused and real milaege... It cost me about 1-2k more but at least everything is new... (did the big job)... If I had to do it back, I'd go for a brand new spoon b18c5...6500$ us or k20... But right now I'm pretty much satisfied... With 130wtq at 4300 when vtec kick in it's way faster than a stock b18c5... I pass them easily on power on a track...
