when i try to start its just dead. i put it into ignition and nothing.... no lights, no power. i tried jump starting with cables it but it still did not start. what could it be please help me out! im low on ideas

um bad battery, the cables could be the problem, alternator could be bad, grounds might not be good, timing could be off

but i'd say try new cables, if that dont work get your batter tested at a local automotive store, get your alternator tested

 

if it was a bad battery wouldnt the car start even when i jump started it with cables? or at least have the light glow when the key is turned into ignition?

 

the battery could be dead. do you have anotehr set of cables? try using another set of cables first

 

Electricity...Spark...Fuel...remember those and you should be able get somewhere. Check your battery for power, make sure your grounds are "up to par", check your spark plugs to be sure they aren't f'd, and be sure you have fuel in the car and that it is being delivered correctly. Sounds like your battery may be f'd and don't let SCHMUCKS fool you by recharging it. IMO go on ebay and buy a red or yellow top optima.

 

definitely start with the battery, battery cables, and grounds... if you cant even get power when you hook up a jump starter or anything then power is not getting to anything in your car... if your car is manual, try to do a roll start to see if it will even run, if it runs then your problem is with the power supply

 

the weird thing is i have foglights and those light up but nothing else does???really weird the battery is good, bought a new one, and when i put the key in ignition no lights show up or no beeping occurs. WTH!!!!!! please help asap!

i had the same problem, turned out to be bad ground cable. grinded the area and used a new cable to be sure and it started again.
