Default New to forum and my car =)

Hello! I'm new to this forum and I just picked up a honda civic 2000 Sedan USDM model.
First thing i wanted to do with my car was to lower, and i stumbled upon a lot of Grouncontrol sleeves/ and koni shocks.

What precautions do i need to look for when i buy it?(like: Do i need camber kit to correct camber need to buy extended shock mounts etc.)

Please throw all your advice and help me out with the precautions i should be looking for before i buy this set... thank you!

Before asking a question like this you should try using the search feature, this is a top that has been discussed and reviewed a large number of times so it shouldn't be too hard to find a detailed answer, also check out the FAQ's section for everything you could possibly want to know about your car. Congrats on the purchase and welcome to the site!

Welcome.

The rule of thumb is " if you lower the car more then 2 inches you should get a camber kit to compensate and save your tires"

No they dont. Youll have to buy them separately. Just make sure to get an alignment ASAP after installing the springs/dampers.

Shouldn't I wait about a week or 2 for the springs to settle then get the alignment?

It depends on how much you drive in a week.
I drove a week without alingment and messed up the complete inner side of the front tires, lost complete thread for about a cm.

Take it immediately to an allignment place that has some sort of warranty like firestone or something. Get it alligned and when it settles the very little bit that it is out of allignment take it back and have them redo it under the warranty. I've done it a number of times. You DO NOT want to ride around at all without it done or you WILL ruin your tires. This all depends how low you go but if you go lower than an inch and a half you mess with more than just camber.
