Default 98 jdm h22a??

I just bought a 98 h22a eng with tran. and ecu for only 1700. The only problem is the ecu is obd 1 and my eng is obd 2 and i'm gonna install this into a 96 hatch. I have 2 options ethier convert my eng to obd 1 or buy a obd 2 ecu. If i was to convert the eng to obd 1, what needs to be done and also if was to buy an obd 2 ecu which one would you recomend a usdm or jdm. I did a search in regard of my tranny and could only seem to see the code m2b4 and m2f4 to pop up but my tranny code is m2s4. I planning on purchasing lsd for it and wanna know if the quiafe diff would fit on jdm trannies. Also willing to trade the obd 1 ecu for an obd2.

Given that the engine is a 98, and the car is a 96, I think it would be easiest to grab an OBDII ECU.

If you wanted to go OBDI you need a Hondata/Skunk2 adapter cable ($250-300), or do the rewiring yourself. There has been some debate regarding throwing codes, but I'm pretty sure you won't have a problem.

m2s4 is the H23 tranny by the way, not and H22 tranny. I will have taller gears i.e. less acceleration than the H22 tranny, and you may drop out of VTEC between 1 and 2 shift, I'm too lazy to do the math:

H23A1
1st: 3.307
2nd: 1.857
3rd: 1.320
4th: 1.034
5th: 0.812
r:3.00
Final drive: 4.266
Tranny code: M2S4

H22A
1st: 3.307
2nd: 1.950
3rd: 1.360
4th: 1.071
5th: 0.870
r:3.00
Final drive: 4.266
Tranny code: M2F4

When is the motor going in? My 96 VTEC ecu may be available once I get my adapter harness for my P72 made...

I know that the h23 tranny is good for turbo and nos but, i'm going all motor, so how big of a difference can i tell by using the h23 tranny instead of the h22 in the 1/4 mile??
