What the hell is that whistling sound?
When i accelerate in my 95 teg, it makes this whistling sound. If i punch it fast enough i could probably whistle at some chic? Anyone have suggestions?
yeah intake makes it whistle. its really loud if you get an aftermarket intake manifold. me (gsr) and my friend (si) have skunk2 manifolds and they whistle pretty loud. newbs in their vw turbo's think it's boosted when they hear the whistle. haha.
WOW! its just not me, ha ha, when i put my skunk2 manifold on my gsr i could hear a whistle from about 3k-5k rpms, i keep trying to fix it and figured it was in the TB somewhere, even replaced gaskets, i don't care, its part of my car now. let it be.. ha ha

When you have it partially open, its the same as partially closing your lips to whistle. Moving air past a small opening = whistle.
How much air, and how fast the air needs to move to whistle, changes with TB shape and size.
Between 1,800 and 3,200 RPM, different amounts of throttle can produce a whistle on my DC2.
You can't hear it stock, because the stock intake includes enough baffling (in that giant resonator box in the bumper) to silence it. But the noise is there, whether or not you can hear it.
i had the same problem when i added a edelbrock victor x intake manifold to my gsr.edelbrock said it could be the biger bore on the intake(65mm), and slapping on a matching throtle boddy would correct the problem.i bought the matching 65 mm throtle boddy and no more wistle
