My Maitenance Requried light comes on everytime i start my car and blinks a few times and goes away. Started maybe less then a week ago. Just curious what may be causing this?

I have the manual for the civic 2002 but someone told me that i have to change the engine oil which i already did. The maintenance came on flashing. I don't think i have to send it back to maintenance, right? Just reset it and i will be O.k?
