getting new tires tomorrow, which ones
im gettin some 205/40/16
what should i get, i had nitto 455's they lasted a year but that was probably 40,000 miles so i want some new better tires--something a little more grippy maybe
any suggestions something in the $60-90 per tire range
dont tell me to search im in a time crunch here and i dont have time to search the archives besides all i got was classified ads when i did a search

01SilverGSR: they don't make the tire in the size.. the last time I checked they made 205/55/16.. I wanted to try out the S-03's but it would be too tall
jmx: I went w/ 205/45/16... look into Dunlop SP9000's I love them... if your on a budget you can also look at the kumho ecsta supra 712 or Summitomo HTZR II's.. theres also the new Dunlop FM901's

2.7" haha the wheel would be tucking into the fenderwell wouldn't it? my car is on Eibach Sportlines and Koni yellows and it looks a bit lower ... yeah maybe he meant 1.7"

Good Luck on whichever you may purchase.
A lot of people are liking the Yokohama Parada Spec 2 tires right now. Rates pretty high at TireRack. I myself ride on Kumho 712s b/c of the price.
If I were you i'd pick up some yokohama's parada spec 2's and or BFGoodrich KDW2 they both are made with silica. Making it last just as long as a 50k mile tire would as to most high performance tire would give you 0-30k mile warranty and also gives bad *** wet and dry weather performance. I have had both and love them. I switch off and on. For the price I'd get the yokohama's spec 2.
50K miles on performance tires? hmm I've never had a set of Yokohama parada (1st gen) or spec 2's so I'm not sure.. any1 can confirm or deny this? it seems kindof far fetched... anyway if I'm not mistaken the Kumho Ecsta Supra and Dunlop SP9K is made of silica too and they sure don't last 50K...

go with what's reasonable. there's no way parada's will last you 50k miles. unless it's a trailer queen.

Trust me...you don't want Kumho 712's if you want "grip." They're better than those Nittos, but there are better tires out there.
People seem to like the Parada Spec-2's a lot...a drastic change from the issues of the original Parada. You might also want to consider the Yokohama AVS ES100 in 205/45-16 size. They're pretty new, but they look like another great tire for the money. Any Yokohama "AVS" tire should have exceptional grip.
