DC2 lighting problem (hitting brakes turns on some interior lights)
Ive been having this issue for awhile now and its finally warm enough to actually get something done so Im going to attempt to fix this..
The car is a 2000 teg and the interior ights are acting up bad. when my headlights are off and i push the brakes, the guage cluster, climate control, cigerette lighter, and front corners lights will all turn on with the brake lights while the backlight to the clock turns off simultaneously. does anyone have a starting point on what i should look at first? Im going to check the obvious possibilites first (fuses, wiring, connections, etc) but would greatly appreciate if someone could tell me the best starting point to diagnos this..Im guessing all listed are on the same circuit and a switch or connection or something along those lines is messing everything up...
I should also note that when the headlights are turned on (either just markers or headlights) everything seems to work fine and no issues are apparent..
Im not sure if this is the right forum but it seems like itll be my best bet for a solid answer, mods plz move if this is not the right place to post this..
Thanks in advance for any help or guidance.

If i'm right it should be a simple fix.
Check your rear tail light bulb(s).
and make sure the soft leads are not touching each other.

That was it!
Thanks alot for your help. Apparently the outer bulbs (2 filament) were switched with the inner (1 filament) bulbs, switched them back, everything works great.
