Default Transition from Lowe's Banking

I got an email from a prospective Hyperfest 2 participant wondering if the transition from the banking to the infield is smooth. He was asking because he was concerned about damage to ground effects on lowered cars. My guess is that if race cars can do it, show cars can, except for the fact that race cars have much stiffer suspensions.

Anyway, just wanted to hear from the horse's mouth about whether the transition is treacherous or not, to make sure it doesn't damage anybody's body work. Thanks in advance.

The transition into the infield is perfectly smooth. The transition from the infield to the banking, however....

Some cars have cracked their windshield from the abrubt transition. It exits right into the middle of turn 1, which is ~30 degrees. Or more.

The trick to the road course exit at Lowe's is to setup a line that lets you exit tight and relatively low on the track; at something less than 45 degrees. Kind of like the way you'd cross a ditch with a Jeep

wondering if the transition from the banking to the infield is smooth.
the transition from the banking to the infield is sm00th as butter.

the one going from the infield to the banking = my right-front mud flap is now flat on the bottom.

if they have GrOuNd EfFeCtS on the car they might have lowering springs.... I just hope they are about 4X a stiff as the stock springs.

Boy, the standing start ought to be a hoot to watch! All these cars trying to go 4 & 5 wide into the concrete canyon that is turn one. He He He!!

What you want to watch out for in turn one is the apex. Just at the apex there used to be a deep drainage grate in the grass. I haven't been to Lowe's this year so I don't know if they have fixed it. (i.e. stay off the grass)

The transition back onto the oval from turn 5 can be abrupt if you head straight up the banking. What you want to do is hold the car down on the apron a little longer and gradually ease onto the banking. If your car pushes badly it's going to go up the banking whether you want it to or not.

I am flattered whenever someone 2 classes above me is comparing themselves to me (and finishing behind me on 1 day per weekend).

Corey, no one believes me but the motor is seriously a bone stock motor with I/H/E, underdrive pulley and FPR. No $1000 custom header here either. Just the good old $250 DC JDM 4-1.

I wish I knew why my times fell off so bad on Sunday though. I think I am going to have follow your lead before long Corey and ditch the EV700s. Either that or learn how to drive.
