215/40-18 is the best 18" size for your car; it's also one of the two stock tire sizes for your car.

I recommend either the Kumho SPT ($115/tire plus shipping at the Tire Rack) or the Yokohama S.drive ($142 with free shipping at Discount Tire Direct). If you'd like to see how these two tires compare with each other, see the side-by-side comparison test on the Tire Rack website at http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/...ay.jsp?ttid=97

I'm looking for tires myself, and if best bang for the buck is what you're looking for, General Exclaim UHP's blows the competition (215/35/18 for $94 @ tirerack.com).

Until now, I wouldn't even consider this brand, but during my research today, I've found M3; Corvette; and Subie owners touting the traction of this tire. I'm not saying I've made my decision, but you have to admit, you can't argue with the 380 treadwear rating.

Hope this helps.

tirerack is having their Bridgestone Potenza RE-01Rs blowout and it looks like they have a tire for you except its much beefier! at 245/45/18 http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Sizes....Potenza+RE-01R

for the price their letting these go for its considered a steal but i guess it is just cleaning house for them since the new RE-11s just knocked out the RE-01Rs

from what ive heard and seen these tires are grippy!

No, I think what you really mean is, the General Exclaim UHP blows.

Seriously, the General Exclaim UHP is nothing great, nowhere near as good as the S.drive or the SPT, even though they're all around the same price. And I don't know why you're suggesting the wrong size for his car.

What a terrible recommendation! That tire is MUCH too large for his car, and will probably rub on the wheel wells. It's also not a great recommendation for someone looking for "bang for the buck" because it won't last anywhere near as long as the longer-lasting summer tires; he'll be replacing them 2-3 times as often as he would with the S.drive or SPT.

Seriously, when you don't know anything about tires - and if you're recommending the wrong size tire, that's obvious - please don't post here.

the s.drives look pretty good. Some of the suggestions were just not what i was looking for. IMO i just thought abotu it and realized that im going to buy so DR's for the track and get the longest lasting rite that i can get for my summer rims.
