yes, the "modification" to the drivers side bulkhead will be neccesary.

crossmember depends entirely on what header you'll be running.

Anything 4-2-1 and 2-piece will be a much tighter fit to the oil pan and give more ground clearance.

one-piece 4-1 headers generally hang lower.

Not if you do what I did and use a D-Series Alt, no pounding needed. I used a 4-1 and modded my crossmember for the header to fit.

you don't need to change the clutch cable, and I reused my stock SI throttle cable with a custom fabbed $.50 bracket from the hardware store.

i got a 97ls in my ef hatch, it has a 4-1.. but for the 4-1 to fit, the crossmember was notched out a prettty good amount.. and the ls is bigger than a b16 so its even closer to the bulkhead, def needs to be "beaten"..

A b18 is bigger than a b16! 18 is more than 16 therefore it's bigger. Sheesh people.

The extra .2l of displacement is from the longer 89mm stroke. The block doesnt have to be taller to increase the stroke.. You'll also notice the ls has a different rod to stroke ratio. It's like that for a reason

The block IS taller tho. It's the reason b16a headers will usually touch a b18's oilpan.

ever notice that b18 headers are different part numbers from the b16a versions?

It's like that for a reason
