Default SI brakes?

Just curious. Are the brakes on the SI the same as the standart civic? Also, which replacement brake pads would you guys reccommend for daily driving other than the OEM
pads?

Thanks,

no, si brakes are bigger. if you're not doing any kind of competing then oem are probably the best, don't go for some cheap crap.

always OEM if your not doing anything special or racing with the car this way you wont have any annoying squeaking or grinding or whatever anyone complains about with the cheap crap they buy cause they are too cheap themselves to take GOOD care of their car ... even some of the "branded" pads and rotors squeak so just go with OEM and play it safe ... good luck

The OEM pads seem to hold up really well for day to day driving. I like them. They are lacking if you push the car. It doesn't take long for the pads to go limp during hard driving.

I think that the Hawk HPS pads are much better than the OEM pads. Their initial bite is a little bit better and they hold up to pressure a lot better. They amount of brake dust that they create is comparable to the OEM pads.

x2.....I have found that if you submit the OEM pads to hard driving, they melt like butter

Hawk HPS pads are awesome, I have them on my pig 9-5 and they do great. Quite, low dust, feel stock on initial press of brake pedal, but really bit hard the further you press down. Plus they aren't expensive!

What rotors you use? Or what rotors are a step up from factory?
