2002 Honda Accord upgrades
Hey I'm 17 and just bought a manual 2002 Accord. I'm gunna have this car for awhile and i love it, but is there any way to get better gas mileage? I've heard that ECU chips can give it better gas mileage while improving torque. Does it make sense to buy one? and if so, can anyone reccommend one for me? Thanks
The safest thing to tell you is this
Anything you read on eBay, hear from your friends, etc is most likely incorrect completely and is not worth a second look.
Better gas mileage -
Change oil
Change tranny fluid
Check tire pressures
Have an alignment done
Seafoam motor
Change plugs and wires (just oem)
New air filter
Shift below 3k rpm
Slowly accelerate to speed
etc
etc
I suggest you read the Accord FAQ, your motor is a F23.

no ecu chips will give the car better gas milage
taking off those 18" rims and putting the stock wheels back on will go a long way for gas milage

Your honda also gets jsut as good as most sedans if not better anyhow so you cant really complain either way!! ;-) The best way I found on how to conserve gas is get my heavy *** foot off the gas and drive in low RPM's but higher gears. Like 3rd for bout 35
