Default Disconnecting system that has a capacitor.. need help!!

Ok, I have the following system: 2 JL 10s, Xtant 3300C amp, Monster Cap 1 farad capacitor. I am selling the amp and subs, and am worried about unhooking everything because of the capacitor. I am planning on flipping the inline circuit breaker(basically pulling the fuse) in the engine bay, and then just unplugging the wires from the amp.

My question is, since the capacitor is charged, will this harm my capacitor or amp at all, and is there any special care i need to take when unhooking all this, aside from the obvious not touching the positive and ground wires?

Also, will i need to do anything special when hooking my new equipment back up, with regards to the capacitor?

Thank you!

just take the ground off the cap. keep in mind after doing this the cap will still be charged.

wouldn't the cap discharge if you unhooked the power to the cap and just let the amp play for a sec to draw the current? i'm not sure since it would not be a complete circuit but it may.

Don't people usually use a resistor across the connections on a cap to discharge it?

you use a resistor or a 12v light bulb to discharge and charge caps. the worst thing you will do by instantly charging a cap is that it will spark and leave a burn mark on the ring terminal or post of the cap. to discharge the cap lay the bulb or resistor across the two terminals of the cap. to charge it, after hooking everything up without connecting the battery use the bulb or resistor to connect the power wire before connecting it. hope this helps and goodluck.

so I should definitely discharge the capacitor when unhooking everything, and then recharge it when i put the new stuff in?
