So ive got a B16 in my crx and a few months ago my tach started to jump around alot and read here that it could be my igniter. Turns out it was now recently its doing it all over again and i have another replacement igniter but how often should these go out? Is there another problem that i should be looking for?

 

make sure that all of the wiring connections at the distributor are secure - did you you replace the igniter with an OEM part? replacement electrical components from Autozone, Checker, etc. are junk

 

my replacement was OEM honda

 

check your ground wires, from the battery to the chassis. I remember i was putting new ground wires, and i forgot to put the battery ground on a good metal, and my tach jumped a lot, like if i rev it it goes to like 8k when i barley hit the as pedal. Get a new ground wire and try that.

 

I do have a good ground wire already it didnt help

 

im going crazy i changed out another igniter and its not the problem im going to look for another dizzy
