Vtec kicking in....
I had a smal question guys. I was reading my last Modified magazine and it said in an article that this guy loves when his vtec kicks in at around 6000rmp. I always thought it kicked it at around 3000rmp. Is this true, can you change the threshold point or what. I bearly rev my car up that hight so does that mean i dont know what vtec feels like... if so im gonna kill my self and that sucks....

Yea i got a fully built tuned gsr 215 hp! vtec engages around 6000 rpm up to 8700 rpm feels like a low boosted turbo! low end is so strong i swear im in vtec until i pass 6000 rpm!
your vtec will engage at around 5200 assuming its a stock gsr, you can get a apexi vtec controller and set it lower. and nicely tuned motor will have a seamless vtec crossover real smooth transition! listen to the motor as you bring up your rpms and listen for a change in sound at around 5200 rpm thats vtec crossover! baaaaaaahh bbraaannnnnggggg......
be carefull its adicting lol.

Yea mine kicks in at the 6k range. I need to hurry and throw my headers and exhaust on so I will be able to hear it better. It's still an awesome sound.

everytime you say vtec you have to say YO after it.
like my "vtec YO"
remember, you must say: YO after every vtec
if you get a vafc and turn vtec YO up to some crazy number like 6800 on a stock GSR you can really get vtec YO to kick hard. the primary lobe is so far past it's prime that the switch to vtec YO hits hard. as downright dumb as this sounds i have seriously seen a kid do very similar and brag about how hard vtec YO hit

Hey hey....now, you can say "VTEC" without a "YO" after it.
I figured it was "VTAKK" that had the compulsory "YO" after it.
My shizz has that mad-tyt3 VTAKK, y0! I B33s wantin' sum mo' powa, so I jus crizzanked that **** to kick in at 3kz RPMz, Mang!
Stock GSR VTEC crossover is 4400 RPM. IDK if I've ever really heard VTEC cross over in a stock GSR.
The sound you hear around 6000 RPM is actually around 5700 or 5800. It's the sound of the IABs (Secondary Butterflies) opening. Stock intakes have baffles, etc, that mask that sound. When you switch to an aftermarket intake, you hear the changeovers a lot better.
If you never even rev your car up to 6000 RPM, why even have a GSR? That should be the operative question, here.
I knew a guy that had a B16 that had intake and a FREE flowing exhaust. When the car hit VTEC Crossover, it was like you heard a "POP." I want to say he was running ITR cams, too. I've never heard any car with such a pronounced crossover.
