b18 c1 swap trouble

Default b18 c1 swap trouble

put a 94 gsr in the ef and i ran into a problem the altanator pulley hit the frame of the car before it even get tight. my question is, is there a smaller belt or something that i could use?

you could try finding a smaller belt, and that sounds logical, however i've never seen someone suggest that before. with a b-series swap you have to bang out that area on your inner frame rail to make pulley clearance. i had to do this myself with the engine in the car because i didn't make enough clearance when i tried banging in that area the first time when i had the engine out. in order to get enough room to swing a hammer at the offending area i had to remove the alternator, alt bracket (if i recall), axle, and intermediate shaft.

does anyone know where i can get a smaller belt or use a differnet belt from another car but smaller and fits on the pulleys

when swapping a b series motor into a ef you HAVE to bang out the frame or what ever it is to make clearance for the alternator

i guess you could try taking your stock belt to an auto parts store and see if you can find a belt just a tad shorter than the one you have.

out of all the b swaps been done im sure if there was a smaller belt to be had we would all know about it know...
