Motor Mount Issues
I got a 97 coupe and I tried installing my mounts for an H22. When I went to install the driver side bracket, i saw that there was no threading on the frame. It's the hole on the frame itself most towards the the front of the car. Does anyone know a way to repair this? I was told there's no access point on the frame rail and thats its a weld nut. Not really sure if this is true or not so if anyone's got any info plz let me know.
Well this is not a strictly H22 problem. No matter what swap you put in, the mount will still have to use the same points for the bracket. The car had a single before this and the H hasn't even been in the car yet so it isn't because of the motor. Anyone know if there's an access point on the frame so i can just hold it while the mount is attached?
So if i'm understanding this correctly the nut welded to the inside of the frame rail broke off, correct? You'll have to cut a hole in the side of the frame so you can get a nut in there and hold it with a wrench.
That was one of the solutions I considered but than I figured, if i did that, I would need to drill a considerably big hole to fit the bolt and a wrench through. If i just got a longer bolt, drilled a smaller whole through the bottom, and then ran the bolt all the way through to a bolt on the underside of the frame, would that work?
