Default merge collector on old header, tell me what u think

i have a rmf narrow header replica, but anyways i have a obx4-1 right now that im not using so i was wondering if i choped off the end of the pipes around 30in i think was the right length for optimal performance i read somewere.

Now i would added on a slip on merge collector like this if you think it would work or be a waste of money, I know it would have to be dynoed. Also is there a header already built like this ? Here's some pictures of the header and the collector id like to use.

I'm doing an updated version of the 2.5" Edelbrock collector mod using a transition or merge collector. I have looked at alot info on the subject and cannot find anything but info. saying that it gives excellent results. I also have friend that is an old school SCCA racer and says he has been using them for years..I don't have any results yet, as it is an ongoing process, but I'm thinking I should get good results. Hope this helps. I may be wrong, but the Toda B series header seems as though it is using a merge collector at the 2 to 1 point in the header also.

That slip on collector is for a standard 4 tube square stacking of the tubes. All the DC copies are staggered tubes plus the area where the tubes first bend under the oil pan hang way too low. It would be easier and better to build a new header.

The RMF Narrow has proven to beat the JDM DC. It has a better collector than the copy.

If your header has stagered pipes you might be able to do a try Y with three 2-1 merge collectors.
