Finished my fiberglass corner box
no pics of the build unfortunately...standard corner box stuff
no you don't build a frame for a corner box. You glass to the side panels until it's stong enuff to remove and layer...then mount the ring on the front and glass around it..i'll post up some pics of the back
my fav way to get the airspace is by using firm packing peanuts.....fill the whole thing up with em....take em out and put em in something you know the dimensions of (like a cardboard box)
Hits nice....low and tight

I need to get something like this made for my S2000. I know a guy who used to make them but he stopped. You could make some cash if you could produce them for a relatively low cost.

yah the problem is there's too much time AND money in making them...the materials alone cost about 250 for this one box...most the time is spent waiting for the glass to dry. There's faster ways but nothing near the quality i'd want...
ya its not worth the time or money to try and make these to sell. I used to make them and after you figure the time and material involved no one wants to pay.
Glass the corner, build your mount and rough an outer frame, pull a tight sheet over it, glass, sand, cover, install the sub. Just takes forever that's all.
those are both good ones for people to look at! pretty much exactly how I do mine but with a couple steps left out:
make sure to spray glue aluminum foil to the tape so the fiberglass easily comes off the back
when the box is done, the edges won't be perfect (like both of those examples) my trick is to re-tape around the perimeter, set the box in the corner, and then glob bondo around the edges so that it sits perfectly flush with the panel. then you can trim/sand for the shape that you want.
he's right. fiberglass boxes really aren't that hard to make. just takes a little know how and patience. at the stereo shop i work at, we charge around $600 per fiberglass enclosure and people don't have a problem paying that just because the box itself takes nearly a whole day to make from start to finish.
It looks really good and very professional. I like it. Can I ask why the supplies cost so much? When I had one for my EG, I don't remember it costing more than like $100. Wood dowels, wood ring, fiberglass, sandpaper, brushes, etc were probably only like $80, then the fabric. Does the sub move around, or is it heavy enough to stay put?
I'd like to get my integra a sub again in the corner or w/ a false floor, but I don't really care so much for having loud or good sounding music as much as I just like to be able to get my Sirius.

it's mounted using threaded rod through one of the side panel mounting points
sounds great...tight and punchy, but also hits low..lovin it so far
