Default s2000 steering wheel 00-03 04-05

anyone know why many people say the 04-05 steering wheel won't fit ap1's because of a dual stage airbag or different spline? I have both in my possession and both the ap1 and 04-05 ap2 SEEM to fit the same way. Can someone confirm?

I'm pretty sure it's the 06+ airbags that are two stage. You will know because the two stage bags are 4 wire/pin and the single stage are only 2 wire/pin.

I have an 04-05 airbag on my 02 AP1 and it bolted to the 02 wheel with no issues. The connectors are exactly the same. It looks much nicer then the AP1 bag as well.

I've read that the two stage bags can be converted and used, but am not going to tell you how to do it because it could be very unsafe and I would not promote that.

See the two stage connections on this 2007 S2000:

There are four wires, two red and two yellow.

I like the ap1 bag better than ap2 just cause the H emblem in a lil circle and not a big square

the 06+ steering wheel has different sensors they have a check light on the dash when you replace it with an aftermarket steering wheel, also i think it has a speed sensor for the VSA traction control. Also 06+ have the chrome H emblem which i think is ugly

All S2000's have an SRS light, in fact I am pretty sure all cars with airbags do.

06+ Airbag:

04-05 Airbag (will work on 00-03)(I've seen this with a red H, PM me if you know where to find that! UK Maybe?)

00-03 Airbag (will work on 04-05)

I'm surprised! I really see no appeal of the AP1 over the AP2V1 (black H).

I do like the perforated leather on the AP1 though, which is why I have a AP1.2V1. lol

A steering hub adapter ("hub") is used to "adapt" your factory steering column to an aftermarket steering wheel. It also has the side effect of removing the driver's airbag. Due to this fact, they are hard to get in the US and typically are imported from Japan. Check with your supplier first! If they don't know, chances are it will NOT work. Most "generic" Honda hubs from Japan made for *current* Hondas will work, most "generic" Honda hubs available in the US will NOT. A hub that is truly made for the car will not only fit and cancel the turn signals properly, it will also come with the proper wiring to defeat the SRS computer's airbag warning and prevent a constant "SRS" light.

This has nothing to do with the topic at hand.

Okay so quick question. I have an 04 s2000 with a blown airbag. Can I use an 03 s2000 airbag with no issues? If there are issues can I work around it?

Thanks!

Should be able to, you will have to reset the SRS system.

You will have to purchase an un-used SRS module. The 00-03 airbag can be interchangable with the 04-05 airbag. Have a professional install it.

so would a dual stage ap2 airbag fit an ap1 steering wheel?
