Timing Belt Replace 01 Accord 4 cyl
I had a 1993 Accord that I hesitated to replace the timing belt myself as there was mention of several "Special" tools required, I have no idea if that was correct or not, so I paid to have it done.
I now have a 2001 Accord LX, 4 Cylinder that is due for its second timing belt and from what gather its not too difficult of a job, just time consuming. I would like to know if there is any quality info out there on replacing the belt, water pump, seals etc. that is recommended.
I found http://www.alldatadiy.com/ and Honda Service Express at https://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/logon.asp, both are pay for info sites and look to be very good resources, but not having any experience with either I was hoping for some input.
Thank you

When I checked it out in 93 I read somewhere about the so called "special tools required" I decided not to persue the special tool route and paid to have it done. Also there was not the infomation available then as there is now, Nor the mention of any "special tools" I have no problem doing it, just wanted to get the best info available about doing the project. What have you to suggest
check in the Accord FAQ sticky, first thread in the engine section is a How-To on changing the timing belt and water pump on a 94-97 EX. It's very similar to the 98-02 4cyl. If nothing else, it'll give you a good idea of the tools required and whats involved.
If your going to do it your self I hope you have air tools. The crank bolt is going to be the hardest part to get off. The 98-02 accords are the worst for some resone. When I was still turning a wrench at a dealer I purchased a 3/4" impact for this after running into 3-4 bolts in a row that would not move with a normal 1/2" impact. Hell the 3/4" still hammers on the bolts from time to time.
180ft/lb's of torque my ***!

Thanks for the infomation
When you are torquing the crankshaft pulley, it says not to use an impact. There are a couple of special tools used for that bolt, which is a 19mm.
