1. take out the actuator and bench test it off your battery. if it clicks than save yourself the money and start following wires

2. I had same problem when i bought mine and it was both axles. first i would take it in and have the tires and rims checked to make sure they are balance and not bent. also check and see if the CV boots looks torn

mine happened from 40-60 though but sounds similar. if you don't want to pay a shop to diagnose them, jack up the front end and have a friend get up to speed and check visually if there is a wobble in the axle. since only one wheel will want to move use a stick or something to put a little bit of pressure on the drives side wheel to check passengers side. DO NOT try to get to wedge it against something. just put pressure under the tire and the other one will start spining. just make sure your friend accelerates slowly when doing both side and of course use jack stand. last thing you want is your car falling of the jack while wheels are spinning at 60

How is the tread on your tires? A cupped tire will cause a shimmy/ vibration. In fact at speeds around 30mph to 70mph it will look like your steering wheel or dash board is going to fall off due to shaking.

Run your hand over the tread and see if it feels even or does it feel uneven?

Cheers

locosiete is gonna get you killed with these stupid ideas.

and if the c/v shafts move a little how do you know that they are bad? is there a way to measure that? **** no. So he might **** around see a little "wobble" and replace c/v shafts and still have the same ******* problem.

I have been under these cars for a long time and seeing the shafts "wobble" does not mean that they are bad.

you wan't to start with the simple solutions first......get the balence check on the tires. some tire shops have high dollar tire balencer machines that can check road force and other things to make sure the wheel and tire are as true as possible.

and BTW **** auto zone parts........people love Honda's because they are great cars. Cars are basicly a puzzle of parts that make a dependable car....why put ******* junk from these two bit parts stores in your car? cheaper? sometimes that is understandable but the quality is not there.....you pay for what you get. Yeah the A/Z part might even come with a lifetime warranty but if your changing it every 6 months is it really worth it? Especially when the Honda one lasted 130k miles.....

Honda spends millions of dollars in R&D for the parts they make and if they don't make the part the company that makes them has to make them to Honda's specifications. Do you think the fly-by-night companies that make that **** for auto zone spent anytime insuring the quality of the crap they put out......NO.

This reminds me of two things...
we all know Honda has transmission problems mostly because of the carrier bearings going out and fubaring the transmission.....trust me the makers of the bearing are gonna pay big time for this.

back in the day EF civics had a problem with the igniters going out causing people to be stranded. Honda came out with a recall to replace the igniter and fix the problem. Honda made the makers of the igniters foot the bill on the recall as a result the company went out of business.

well i guess i should have elaborated. first of all you are correct there will be some wobble that is obvious, well at least to me. i should have said that if he saw it get worse in the speed range that he experiences it normally than there ya go. granted i wouldn't punch it to 90 to test upper speeds. i would go no more than 60 and only for a sec. also i guess i should have also stated not to be lying under or in front of the car while it is running since to me that would be a bad idea in general. but i assumed that he or she had enough common sense to know that already

What might not be a big wobble to us might lead someone else to think it is a major problem and repairing something that doesn't need to be fixed.

While it can be done it wouldn't be to easy to watch axles spin without being under the car, which can be dangerous if not done properly.

never assume.....there are some real dumb muthafuccas out there
