Rev high car goes into limp mode?
Ok so I have a d16 turbo and I have it tuned. For some reason since I had the shop replace my tranny, whenever I rev the car high and let it idle, it drops below 1k rpm and wants to stall. It drops to 100 or so. I dont know what the problem is. I tried cleaning the iacv and nothing. What cat he problem be?
Adjusting the idle speed is worth a try, but it really sounds more like an IACV issue. Also, limp mode is usually associated with a CEL trouble code, so I am puzzled by why the ECU would default to this mode.
its funny my stock d16 does something similar. At normal operating temp, If I just sit there and rev it, sometimes it will drop all the way down to 200 - 300 rpm and choke a little. Hopefully someone will help you with your problem!

Well I dont know exactly if its going limp. I do know that it wants to die after revving it high. Maybe Ill try changing Iacvs. Can it be the tuned map?
hmm so this was all cause by a bad ground for your vtec solenoid how would that affect idling? I have a similiar problem it only does it when it is warmed up and it doesn't do it all the time. Only when i don't have time to mess around with it, or if it is raining or something ha. But i know my ground is good i was really hopin it would turn out to be something else i guess there are alot of things that could cause this
yeah im guessing whenever i try and hit vtec it doesnt engage or something. then it idles weird and sputters and what not. it sucked because i would have to restart the car for it to idle normal again
