Default My track day, photos.

Saturday, August 10th, 2002. Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Sanctioned by NASA, they run USTCC, and a plethora of other racing classes. I only got a few pictures..wish i had a better camera.

a pretty quick 300zxTT. Did rather well in group 4.

Not sure if i like that rear bumper though.

I really liked this Audi. He wasn't driving it as hard as he could though.

I got video of this audi passing me, then me chasing him down and forcing him to brake far too late and completely miss the turn. Funny stuff.

In the last session, me and this civic began chasing everyone down in our run group. The owner is James and he's a really cool guy. Even though he and some other guy kept telling me this was a B16A2... it was a B18C5. He definitely pulled on me on the straights.

another shot. this shows the 5-lug conversion. everything on the car is from an ITR.

Me. I overheated all day. blew fluid all over my hood and fender.

this IS300 was initially in group 3, but moved down...probably after getting 2 wheels off.

a Maxima with an Angry gerbil.

a mustang gt with an even Angrier gerbil.

Hydraulics on porsches

...crazy.

I didn't notice it at first but... FMIC. Looked real.

Some of the USTCC guys had their cars for viewing. this proves that you don't need slotted/cross-drills to have good brakes.

Expensive rims with expensive brakes.

this integra was crazy. carbon fibre gastank funnels..

a Stack instrumentation panel.

you can kinda see... the car has those jack pistons that raises the car without needing a jack ala F1.

The jacking cylinder. and of course, carbon fibre door skins.

apparently, this integra was bought from some guy in belgium and now runs with ustcc? insane. spend $4K on a usdm integ and have fun...nooo, spend $25K for a belgium integ and spend even more getting it shipped here.

Gary Sheenan's WRX

part 2..huge wing.

sweet pics, thanks for sharing. are there any groups that host track days there regularly? i'm in socal, but have a good friend in vegas that would put me up - it would be worth the trip. i checked the lvms.com site, and there isn'tt any open track info. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not to be pedantic, but F1 cars do not have air jacks-as they would add unnecessary weight to the car- ALMS/Le MANS/ Prototype/Touring cars, however, do.
